Residence Ernest Mélot in Namur is a student housing project commissioned by Xior Student Housing.
216 student rooms, a collective study area, a fitness room, a relaxation room, secured bicycle sheds, but above all beautiful windows! Our partner Stalku Geveltechniek developed and installed the Star75 window profiles for the rooms and the MC Wall curtain wall on the ground floor.
C-construct - the construction division of Cordeel Group - opted for precast concrete inner leaves for several reasons: optimisation of construction costs, shortening of the execution time and the location by the railway, which made it impossible to erect scaffolding. The window elements were therefore assembled in-house at Cordeel. To this end, Aliplast developed a new Star75 window profile that allowed the use of twist anchors and was therefore very easy to anchor in the prefab elements.
Acoustic tests were performed with good results. This was important given the location close to the railway.
