How a dilapidated residential tower was transformed into a frivolous building with spacious flats where the livability of the residents is paramount. This successful design by DBLVa (Dierendonckblanke architecten - Lust-Van De Ginste architecten) was made possible thanks to our partner Bekaert Construction, which used the Star75 aluminium system for this project.
This project was carried out by
Bekaert Building Company

The original long narrow 8-storey building overlooks the Bourgoyen-Ossemeersen nature reserve on one side and the city centre on the other. DBLVa transforms the housing units into ideal duplexes. As sustainability plays a major role throughout this project, Star75 windows were chosen. Aliplast received a Silver Cradle-to-Cradle certificate for this aluminium system. This certificate stands for sustainability in five areas: material health - product circularity - clean air & climate protection - water & soil stewardship - social fairness.
