During the transformation of the former Honig factory ‘De Bij’, aluminium joinery was also chosen. This piece of industrial heritage in Koog aan de Zaan was repurposed into a residential project with 21 lofts in the existing building and a new construction containing 74 apartments. The architectural challenge? Preserving the authentic appearance while meeting modern standards for comfort, energy efficiency, and fire safety.
