Round aluminium windows and folding wall system for waterfront homes
In The Netherlands, floating houses are becoming increasingly popular. One of the leading companies in this sector is Spruyt Waterwoningen Nederland, located in Heerenveen. They are known for their high-quality and custom-built houseboats on the water. One of their recent projects is the recreation parc ‘Park Folclaghe’ in Follega, Friesland, where sixteen floating en four ground-level water homes are being built. Aliplast’s aluminium systems were chosen for the windows and folding wands in these houses.
Star75 and New Panorama
On the terrace side of the houses, the choice fell on the New Panorama from Aliplast. These folding walls offer unlimited panoramic views of the water. This system is characterized by its flexibility, with possibilities for 2 to 8 sections and glass thicknesses ranging from 9 to 50 mm. This solution has a built-in depth of 75 mm for the outer frame and sash and a view width between 15 and 58 mm for the frame and 73 mm for the sash.

The Star75 was used for the remaining windows. These windows, placed in the side walls and bedrooms, offer excellent thermal and acoustic isolation. The real eye-catchers here are the round portholes. Because Aliplast can also apply a bending technique to windows, these round windows give the real boat-like feel to these homes. With a built-in depth of 75 mm for the outer frame and 84 mm for the sash, this system is suitable for glass thicknesses between 12 and 61 mm for the outer frame and between 21 and 69 mm for the sash. These windows therefore provide an aesthetic highlight in the design of the waterfront houses.
Exceptional colour guarantee
All aluminium profiles are treated with a special coating, certified with the Qualicoat Seaside quality label. This provides for an extra protection against the corrosive influences of the water environments. Moreover, Aliplast offers a 25-year colour guarantee on the paint.
The windows were placed by Gerard Peters Aluminiumbouw BV, a regular partner of Spruyt Waterwoningen. They ensured that all systems were seamlessly integrated into the building process.
